Hustlin' Henry

Remember Travis Henry? Last time we checked, the former Pro Bowler had just been arrested for possession of 11 pounds of cocaine.  If you don't remember, let us refresh your memory. Henry and co-defendant James Mack were busted last October in Billings, Montana after authorities seized 6 pounds of weed and 6.6 pounds of cocaine that were directly linked to the two men.

On Tuesday, Henry signed a plea bargain in which he will accept one cocaine conspiracy charge in order to have two other charges dropped.  But the deal is no blockbuster for Henry.  IF Judge Richard Cebull accepts his plea, the former NFL standout will still face a minimum sentence of 10 years to life in prison.

It is hard to imagine what would drive a well paid NFL player to drug trafficking.  However, if you take a closer look, Henry's past is spotted.  Throughout his career he struggled with injuries, inconsistency, and general laziness.  Off the field, Henry has fathered nine children with nine different women.  Henry was likely hustling to pay Bills and child support.

This was not a rag tag operation either.  In the affidavit (read the complete affidavit here) a DEA agent chronicles the pre-meditated nature of Henry's drug cartel.  There are mentions of Henry delivering death threats to debtors and records of phone calls with buyers who arranged to pay upwards of $20,000 per Kilo.

The other two cocaine distribution charges would have carried an additional 10 year prison sentence each.  But there is no question that Henry will be locked up for quite a while.  In the government's offer of proof in his drug case, an informant described Henry as the "money guy" in the conspiracy--ouch!

Whitner Tazed in Latest Bills Arrest

It looks like the Buffalo Bills are quickly becoming the NFL's biggest soap opera.  Bills' safety
Donte' Whitner was arrested early this morning for aggravated disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.  The incident occurred around 3 a.m. outside of The House of Blues in downtown Cleveland

Whitner was attending a birthday party for high school teammate Ted Ginn Jr before he was involved in a, "near riot" outside the club.  The Cleveland Police Department alleges that as a brawl began to erupt Whitner aggressively forced his way into an area he was told by officers not to enter.

A police report states that after he was separated from the brawl,  "[Whitner] began swinging his arms in a violent manner, and when restrained by officers, he broke free and took a fighting stance."  The pugnacious Whitner then had to be TAZED in order for officers to place him in handcuffs.

This is just the latest in a string of off field issues for the Bills.  On Wednesday, Marshawn Lynch was suspended for the first three games of the 2009 season for his role in a hit and run last year.  Safety Ko Simpson was arrested New Years Morning for Disorderly Conduct after interfering with another arrest and screaming, "I'm Ko Simpson with the Buffalo Bills, I'm worth millions!"  (Check out Ko's real salary)

Maybe Ralph Wilson can deal with T.O., but 5-0 and PO's might just drive the old man crazy.

Burress Bluffing

Plaxico Burress is not doing much to clean up his image. It has been revealed that the embattled, now former Giants receiver was cited on March 15th for his fifth traffic ticket in just a month after being pulled over on Interstate 95 near Fort Lauderdale.

Burress, who already faces felony gun charges and a possible three year prison sentence, was less than cooperative with Broward County Deputy Donald Harris.  According to the New York Post, as he was questioned by the officer, Burress repeatedly responded with an unconditional, "F*ck you!"

The reportedly, "violent and aggressive" NFL star insisted that the officer would, "hear about this by the end of [his] shift," after he requested to search the car for weapons.

Claiming to know the Head Sheriff, "personally" Burress continued his tirade before the officer cited him for illegal tints and speeding.  His claims turned out to be false, as the Head Sheriff later confirmed he has never before met or even spoken to Burress.

Falling Star

Looks like rising PGA Star Dustin Johnson is giving John Daly a run for his money.  The AT&T National Pro-Am Champion was booked for DUI last Monday morning in his home state of South Carolina.

In a statement released by the PGA tour Johnson relented, "I have let myself down and others who support me.  I am handling the matter privately, and rest assured, I will definitely learn from my mistake."

Too bad Johnson couldn't learn from his last run in with the law.  In 2001 he was persuaded by a friend's older brother to buy the bullets for a gun used in a deadly armed robbery.  That man, Steve Gillian, was later charged with murder and given life in prison without parole.  Johnson was required to pay restitution for the theft and testified at Gillian's murder trial.

Maybe this isn't such a bad thing for Johnson.  I mean, we are talking about him and any publicity is good publicity, right?  As far as endorsements go, Johnson should have no problem catching on with someone.  Just look at John Daly Go Long or Go Home
